At present, AMSOIL is the undisputed world leader as far as 2-cycle oils are concerned, and of course it is 2-cycle engines which continue to dominate in the world of recreational equipment. Not only are 2-cycle engines used for the likes of outboard motors, snowmobiles, and motorcycles, but they are also the option of choice when it comes to things such as lawn mowers and etc. In more recent times, technology has advanced to such an extent that engine manufacturers are now able to take advantage of direct fuel injection technology in order to improve combustion, reduce emissions, and greatly improve fuel efficiency. Of course, with modern 2-cycle engines no longer being the same as they were in the past, they now also require specialized lubrication, and this is something which traditional petroleum based lubricants simply cannot offer.
In line with their reputation and their desire to remain world leaders in 2-cycle oil technology, AMSOIL INC. has invested heavily in research. This has in turn led to the development of four highly specialized lubricants known as the "Fabulous Four". The first one to arrive on the market was AMSOIL INTERCEPTOR (AIT). This lubricant is highly recommended for use as an "injector" oil, or alternatively, it can be used in a 50:1 ratio in engines using carburetors, electronic fuel injection, and also those with direct fuel injection. Interestingly enough, INTERCEPTOR has also been specifically designed to eliminate the problem of exhaust valves sticking, a problem which is frequently experienced with several types of snowmobiles.
The other members of the "Fabulous Four" family include AMSOIL HP Injector oil (HPI), DOMINATOR Racing Oil (TDR), Saber Professional (ATP), and finally, AMSOIL Outboard synthetic 100:1 Pre-Mix oils. |
