AMSOIL Spin-On By-Pass Filters offer the ultimate in filtration technology. Engine wear is caused by dirt particles larger than 5 microns. The AMSOIL By-Pass Oil Filter removes particles less than 1 micron, virtually eliminating engine wear. AMSOIL By-Pass Oil Filters filter all the oil in a six-quart system in about five minutes at an average engine speed equivalent to 45 mph.

Working in conjunction with the engine’s full-flow oil filter, the AMSOIL Ea By-Pass Filter operates by filtering oil on a “partial-flow” basis. The BMK-12 links two AMSOIL By-Pass Filter Elements together for engines with sump capacities greater than 20 quarts. It draws approximately 10 percent of the oil pump’s capacity at any one time and typically filters all the oil in the system several times an hour, so the engine continuously receives analytically clean oil.

Filter Element Selection

8 different size AMSOIL Full-Flow Oil Filters and 4 different AMSOIL By-Pass Filters may be used with the mount. Select a full-flow filter that is equivalent or larger than the one originally installed on your vehicle. The larger the filter used, the greater the filtration capacity and the longer the filter life. The By-Pass filter should be the largest for which space is available. Use the dimension information below as well as the data in diagram A to assist you in selecting your filters.
